I was sure by now
That You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away, stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say, Amen and it's still raining
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain, "I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls I raise my hands
And praise the God who gives and takes away
And I'll praise You in this storm and I will lift my hands
For You are who You are no matter where I am
And every tear I've cried You hold in Your hand
You never left my side and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry, You raised me up again
But my strength is almost gone
How can I carry on if I can't find You
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain, "I'm with you"
And as You mercy falls I raise my hands
And praise the God who gives and takes away
And I'll praise You in this storm and I will lift my hands
For You are who You are no matter where I am
And every tear I've cried You hold in Your hand
You never left my side and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

I have had some ask me (or ask friends of mine about me) how, through all of this, can I still talk about God being in our situation. Truth is, if I didn't have my faith I would be in much worse shape. Look at what all we do have to praise Him for:
loving, supportive husband. supporting parents and siblings. friends who know just what to say, and when. perfect health. great job. great co-workers. warm home. a car that works. weather we can enjoy. sweet, smiling faces every day. an abundance of clothes and shoes (way more than I need). yummy food. ability to travel wherever, whenever. ice cream. chapstick. music. dates. security. love. peace.
Alana, I just recently (in the past few weeks) started reading your Blog. What honest, strength you have! Know that my family and I will always hold you and your family in high regard despite how things transpired between our families. Much love, and I wish you my absolute best. Continue to trust God, and I have no doubt that when you look back on life, you will no without a doubt that God was at work in our life and that everything happened in His time.
