Well, what I should be doing is this: painting! I have a booth at a middle school convention next Mon and Tues. And I have not very many things. :) I'm working on it though, see!
Now to what my heart and mind cannot stop thinking about. Please pray for 2 of our translators (well all of them, but in particularly these 2) Carlot and Luckey. They are members of Concord Baptist Church in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. Last week they, and their pastor and family, got attacked by 15 men trying to get the church building and all that was in it. Luckey said they had a gun but didn't use it. They hit him over the head with an iron (rod, I'm guessing) and were very violent to the rest of them. As you can imagine, health care is not great over there. He did get medical attention and said he feels better, and no one else involved was critically injured. The 15 men were Haitians but some live in the US and come back to visit. They also have family in the Haitian "police" who gave them the gun, because they are illegal over there. It was devastating to me that they were at the church, and got attacked simply because of where they were and what was in their possession, and the fact that they were helpless with no way to defend themselves. He said they have attacked before and will probably again. He ask that we pray for the direction of the church and the people in this matter. He said, "I know God will hear your prayer." The faith of these Haitian people is remarkable. I wish I had an ounce of their faith. Please keep them in your prayers.
And, visit www.hrch.org if you get a chance. Matt has updated his blog. And....if you feel led....you can donate to help build the much needed children's home, even if it's just $5. Remember, their annual income is $270, so $5 goes a long way!
